Thomas Heatherwick

Thomas Heatherwick is an architect who designed the British pavilion at the expo.

British pavilion

He designed the first building was 20 years ago. After that, he has developed a studio in London, then his studio built a lot of buildings like a hospital building, a shop for a bag company, a window display, etc. What my favorite building is the sculpture he designed for expo, which made from a million yards of wire and 150,000 glass beads the size of golf ball. He got his inspiration from children’s play-doh toys, it is a very different but interesting method which comes from daily life. In addition, the exterior of the building looks very technological and futuristic.

The materials he used is glass, which is a recycling material and in the future, recycling resources will be popular because of sustainable.
